Every insurance company advertising on Internet, radio, and TV says they can save me up to $400 on my insurance, or 20%, or whatever.

This is the way I figure it:  If I keep changing between the different insurance companies and keep saving and saving with each one, eventually they will start paying me to use their insurance.  Yeah, that’ll do it

I just realized something about the date today, 02/10/2010.

Today is two-ten, two-ten.

Interesting

Okay, so it’s actually two-ten, twenty-10.  Perhaps my dyslexia kicked in when I first saw this.

Twitter has always been a big question mark in my head.  I must admit, I do use it more and more as businesses use it to send alerts, super sales, and general status updates.  And I suppose I wouldn’t of been able to deal with all of this information if it wasn’t for Tweetdeck.  What a good way to organize all the noise.  Personally I have setup a Loud group, for all those tweeters like Elijah Manor (@ElijahManor) and Jeff Atwood (@CodingHorror).  Then there is the main group, for most of the other stuff except for the ones in the last group, alerts.  Alerts are for my ISP and other providers who post system and service update via twitter.   I actually really like this functionality aspect of twitter, as I am watching one feed to get all my information.  In the past (and I guess I still do) I would have to subscribe to many, many rss or atom feeds.

Twitter in one respect is becoming  a bunch of bots following each others tweets.  There are so many apps out there which auto-follow based on keywords or when someone follows them, that you get these clusters of drones passing data to each other.  We should be careful you never know if this may become some AI cognitive network!

It feels a bit strange seeing the one plus terabyte drives roll out to the market.  It reminds me a lot of when the one plus gigabyte drives came out.  It all really seems the same: sizes, pricing, amazement.

I look at some drives sitting around my desk; removed some time ago do the the plowing of a machine (I prefer a new hdd over erasing a current one).  I look at a drive, 80GB hmm, that seems small.  Really, did I just think that–yes I did.  Simply because the 500GB drive I have installed now has plenty of space on it.  This is no different than when it was 80MB drive and I had that first 720 MB drive in my main machine.  This all really has the same smell.

Funny, even though I balked at that 80GB drive, I plugged it in to load up my Windows 7 beta.  You know what, there was more than enough room for Win7, VS2010, Office 2007, etc.

What are we doing with all this extra space we have on these drives?

Yeah, so I have ten free days.  I think I have been logged in for a total of one hour.  It’s been so long since I have logged in, It’s going to take me a week to get up to speed.  There is hours of research to figure out how to apply skill points.  Have no idea what my fighting patterns where/are.  All my friends lists have been delayed, so I have no clue who is on, and no I don’t remember their names.

In a nutshell, I really don’t give a dame about the free trial and I am glad I could waist it and be some statistic for them.  So it goes.

If they throw you an anchor while you are drowning, it will keep you form drifting down stream so you can be recued easier…

Of course the rescue crew will be looking for you down stream, since that is they way things usually happen.

Its the second day of Spring here in Chicago and it’s snowing like crazy. Weather people say 8 – 12 by the Wisconsin border.

I guess we turned toward Spring and skidded into a U-turn–Heading right back toward Winter.

For many years the president of my current employer has told us to always look for prospective client.  “You meet people all day long, talk to them, find out who they work for”, he would say.

So I would do that time to time, talk to people about their jobs and where they work, size of the company, etc.  Oddly enough, one of the people I was talking to will now be my future boss!

It’s always good to talk with people.

I find it strange how numbers correlate in your life. Recently I discovered a pattern that caught my fancy.

In 1999 I was laid off from a company on Friday the thirteenth, the number has been lucky to me ever since. Really the best thing that could of happened to me at the time.

Just recently I submitted my resignation to my employer on March 13th, not a Friday, but hey.

The head hunter who help me find my current job, was located on the eleventh floor of their building. My current job is located on the eleventh floor. My new job, again, is on the eleventh floor.

I find it very interesting indeed.
