EVE is currently one of my favorite MMOG’s. It is quite unique in the gaming world, as the games servers are not sharded off into separate instances; It’s one big world!  To date I think they hold the record of 38,000 simoultanious users.  It may be higher now, I kind of remember 40,000 but not sure.  That is a lot of connections, and hell on a central database.

I have build some tools for EVE, and as soon as I find some server space I plan to get them posted. I will have all the links and other information here as I work through it all.
